Managing Distributed Applications with AppCenter
Description
This intermediate-to-advanced level course is presented over three days in which students learn how to manage distributed
applications using the AppCenter management tool. The course focuses on managing CORBA-based, VisiBroker applications as
well as systems developed using the EJB technology and Borland AppServer (BAS). Numerous hands-on exercises reinforce
the concepts learned in lecture presentations. This course is intended for system managers, developers, and technical managers who
have a familiarity with Java, VisiBroker and IAS and wish to enhance their skills to deploy and manage distributed systems using
AppCenter.
Format
3 days -- 50% Lecture, 50% Exercises
Prerequistites
This course assumes that the student:
- is a system manager, software engineer, architect, or technical manager
- has some programming experience in a Unix and/or Windows environment
- has working knowledge of at least one object-oriented language, preferably Java
- has working knowledge of VisiBroker and Borland AppServer
