DOS/WINDOWS BASED I*NET 5.0 SETUP:
V5.0 Unix (available only using ODBC before IDAPI 2.5 
SQL Links 2.5)

Tested using:
INFORMIX 5.0 NATIVE BDE/IDAPI 2.5 DRIVER (2.5 SQL LINKS dated
after 7/17/95) and Q+E 2.0 INFORMIX5 DRIVER.

SERVICES:
Add/verify entry in your SERVICES file.

sqlexec 3070/tcp

HOSTS:
Check your HOSTS or network DNS for your Informix server's name 
and IP address.

(*Please note that "inform5" is a QA server and should only be 
used by TS until a general test server is set up by MIS*)

Settings for SETNET.EXE (Informix 5.0 I*NET5 config.):
SQLHOST=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx (i.p. address or server name)
SERVICENAM=sqlexec
SQLUSER=informixuser
SQLPASS=userpassword

database is: yourdatabase

TESTING THE CONNECTION:
Use the Informix "llogin.exe" utility to test an I*Net5 
connection from windows.

ERRORS:
Make sure to make this entry into your services file: 
sqlexec 3070/tcp.
  
If it is not, the following message appears:

"Error on network, getservbyname [WSANO_DATA] system call failed. 
Alias: ALIASNAME"


ODBC DRIVER:
The INFORMIX-Net 5.0.1 package includes ISQLI501.DLL.  The path 
to this DLL must be in your PATH environment variable.  If it is 
not, the following message appears:

"The setup routines for the INTERSOLV INFORMIX5 ODBC driver 

could not be loaded.  You may be low on memory and need to quit 
a few applications."

Make sure that the Informix 5.0 client software is installed 
before configuring your Q+E 2.0 Informix 5 ODBC datasource.

TESTING THE CONNECTION:
Use the Informix "pisql" utility to test a connection from dos.


System configuration (Win 3.x):
The dos path should include C:\PCTCP;C:\INFORMIX\BIN
EXAMPLE AUTOEXEC.BAT (using odi and PCTCP dos/win network 
drivers)
