Sybase CTLIB, "External Exception C0000008" error on application exit, NT4, Delphi, Debugger Q: "External Exception C0000008" error on application exit: I get an External Exception error in Delphi when connecting to Sybase server when in Delphi's IDE or Turbo Debugger with NT4. If I run the application alone, it executes correctly. How do I get around the problem? A: In NT4.0 anything that is being debugged with any debugger will cause the OS to report exceptions that would otherwise be ignored. "External Exception C0000008" one of those types of errors. Changing the Sybase client version will solve the problem. Use either 10.0.3 or the Sybase EBF for the 11.1 client. EBF URL: http://www.powersoft.com/services/support/workplace/get_ebfs.html Possible EBF's 1) EBF #: 7181 Product: OpenClient/Server Platform: IntelNT Version: 11.1 This solved C0000008 exception in CT-Lib driver. DB-Lib still crashes (under investigation SYB-14304. It appears that Sybase has changed the 32bit DBLIB interface from the 10.x client) 2) EBF #: 7264 Product: OpenClient/OpenServer Platform: IntelNT Version: 10.0.4 DB-Lib abd CT-Lib both work fine here.
