SQL Links 32 MS SQL Server 6.0 NT 3.51/4.0 local connection/server Local connection to SQL Server 6.x from NT without a network card installed. A 16bit connection is successful using the NT machine name but the 32bit SQL Link eventually returns the error "server is unavailable or does not exist." Leaving the SERVER NAME blank for the ALIAS and the MSSQL DRIVER will allow a successful connection (the Driver's SERVER NAME parameter will be used as a default if the MSSQL alias SERVER NAME is left blank). There seems to be a difference between how the 16bit W3DBLIB and the 32 bit NTWDBLIB connect to a local machine/MS SQL Server. PUB MSSQL LINK CONFIG BC
