Borland JBuilder 5 Update 1
This software update is being provided to licensed users of Borland
JBuilder 5. Installation and use is governed by the applicable license
statement/limited warranty for Borland JBuilder 5.
Description
This update addresses the following problems in Borland JBuilder 5:
Enterprise Application Development

[114560] IBM WebSphere Application Server 3.5:
Cannot deploy to remote server. The deployment properties dialog
now has two additional fields to specify deployment properties for a remote
server:

Options
-
Used to specify the -nameServiceHost and -nameServicePort
options to XmlConfig for a remote server.

Remote archive location
-
Used to specify the directory on the server which contains the jar to be
deployed.
The deployment properties dialog is accessed using Tools
| EJB deployment..., or from the Properties dialog for
an EJB group (.ejbgrp file).

[114672] BEA WebLogic Server 6.0: Cannot redeploy
using Tools | EJB deployment.... Dialog
generates incorrect command line.

[114723] Borland AppServer 4.1/4.5: Cannot deploy to a container
with a name other than the default name. The deployment properties
dialog now contains a field for specifying the name of the EJB
container. The deployment properties dialog is accessed using Tools
| EJB deployment..., or from the Properties dialog for
an EJB group (.ejbgrp file).
Team Development

[109454, 109760] Microsoft Visual SourceSafe: Exception displayed in the
console and IDE does not respond when operating with Japanese version of
VSS.

[110716] Microsoft Visual SourceSafe: Japanese username cannot be found
in Step 5 of 5 of the Place Project into Visual SourceSafe dialog.
Message similar to the following is displayed in the console:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\VSS\users\“n•ÓŒõ‹I\ss.ini does not exist.
Microsoft Visual SourceSafe: Cannot use VSS in the German, French or Spanish
language with JBuilder.
[113463] When commiting a project, if summary comments are used on more
than one file, the commit operation is only applied to one of the files.
[114536] Concurrent Versions System (CVS): Team
| Place Project into CVS... will not work if the CVS
server does not have access to CVSROOT. At the end
of the wizard, user receives warning message "Failed to checkout CVSROOT/cvswrappers",
and both the "Yes" and "No" buttons on the confirmation panel are disabled.
[115008, 115054] Concurrent Versions System (CVS):
Pulling a CVS branch other than the main branch fails.
Messages similar to the following are displayed in the CVS console:
cvs -qd :pserver:user@domain:/rep/ktxa2 co -lp
CvsPvcsDeployer
cvs tag ABCDEF
[115010] Concurrent Versions System (CVS): Cannot
place a project into CVS using the EXT
connection type. The user is asked to submit a password needlessly, and
cannot proceed.
Debugger

[115695] Cannot set a breakpoint in a java file whose class is not in the
classpath of the current project.
This update applies to all editions of Borland JBuilder 5 and
Borland Enterprise Studio 2 for Java, though portions do not affect certain
editions. This update applies to all localizations of Borland
JBuilder 5, though certain textual information affected by this update
will appear only in the English language and not in the language of the
user's locale.

Downloading and Installing the new files:
Read all the instructions through once before applying the update. In the
following description we assume that JBuilder 5 has been installed in the
directory \jbuilder5. If you have installed JBuilder in a different directory,
replace the one in the example with the one that you used.Unix users should substitute
a simple (forward) slash ("/") wherever a backslash ("\") appears in a pathname.
To download update:
- For Windows users: Download the jb5_en_all_001.zip file.
- For Unix users: Download the jb5_en_all_001.tar.gz file.
To apply update:
1.) Shut down JBuilder.
2.) Remove any and all other JBuilder 5 updates (jb5*.jar) from the
\jbuilder5\patch directory.
3.) Unpack jb5_en_all_001.zip (or jb5_en_all_001.tar.gz)
and copy the jb5_en_all_001.jar to the \jbuilder5\patch
directory.
4.) Restart JBuilder.
