DOCUMENTATION SECTION

Areas of concentration under: documentation

Area: documentation

Reference Number: 6 (Published: 11/12/97)
Status: Fixed
Sub Area: On Line Help
Date Reported: 06/25/97
Severity: Serious
Type: Documentation Problem

Problem:

Please add the following to the usage section for
the DbiCreateInMemTable.

"Indexes are not supported. Records cannot be
deleted (DbiDeleteRecord)."

Area: documentation

Reference Number: 26 (Published: 11/12/97)
Status: Fixed
Sub Area: BDECFG
Date Reported: 09/09/97
Severity: Serious
Type: Documentation Problem

Problem:

The documentation for SHAREDMEMLOCATION
on the 'System INIT settings' page in
BDEADMIN.HLP is somewhat unclear. The memory
addresses specified are correct, but to change
those settings you only need to specify the upper
word of the address.

Please fix for BDE 4.5 because the existing
information can be misleading.

Area: documentation

Reference Number: 32 (Published: 01/13/98)
Status: Fixed
Sub Area: Create & Restructure
Date Reported: 10/02/97
Severity: Commonly Encountered
Type: Basic Functionality Failure

Problem:

The doumentation on DbiBatchMove
pszChangedTable is incorrect.

No subtracted records are placed in the changed
table. The doc should read:
Optional. Pointer to the Changed table name. A
change table is created when DbiBatchMove is
called with ebatMode being either batUPDATE or
batAPPENDUPDATE. If NULL, no Changed table
is created. If the user supplies a table name, that
name is used. If not NULL and a pointer to a NULL
character is specified, BDE generates a name for
the auxiliary table and copies the name back to the
location specified by the pointer; therefore, this area
must be at least DBIMAXPATHLEN+1 bytes. If no
auxiliary table is created, this area is set to all
NULLs.

Area: documentation

Reference Number: 21 (Published: 11/12/97)
Status: Fixed
Sub Area: Misc.
Date Reported: 08/27/97
Severity: Commonly Encountered
Type: Documentation Problem

Problem:

In BDE32.HLP on the RECProps page,
bRecChanged is not a BOOL it is a UINT16.

Also, the description says it is not currently used,
but it should really say somthing like:
"Determine the currenct status of a record in
delayed update mode. i.e. Unmodified = 0,
Modified = 1, Inserted = 2, Deleted = 3".

Area: documentation

Reference Number: 28 (Published: 11/12/97)
Status: Fixed
Sub Area: Misc.
Date Reported: 09/17/97
Severity: Commonly Encountered
Type: Documentation Problem

Problem:

BDE32.HLP on the DbiCreateInMemTable page.
Add to the "Usage" list that
'DbiGetExactRecordCount (Delphi's
TTable.RecordCount)' is not supported; use
DbiGetRecordCount.'

Area: documentation

Reference Number: 34 (Published: 11/12/97)
Status: Fixed
Sub Area: On Line Help
Date Reported: 10/27/97
Severity: Infrequently Encountered
Type: Basic Functionality Failure

Problem:

The Access Driver page in Bde32.hlp should have
information about the iddao32.dll and idda3532.dlls.

Area: documentation

Reference Number: 13 (Published: 11/12/97)
Status: Fixed
Sub Area: Misc.
Date Reported: 07/21/97
Severity: Infrequently Encountered
Type: Documentation Problem

Problem:

The Delphi example button for DbiDropFilter points
to the DbiActivateFilter example not the
DbiDropFilter example. The example does exist in
the help file.
