 BDE/SQL DEVSUPPORT

Borland Database Engine/SQL Links 5.01
Enhancements and Fixes

SYBASE SECTION

Areas of concentration under: sybase

Area: sybase

Reference Number: 41
Status: Fixed
Sub Area: VENDOR
Date Reported: 05/21/97
Severity: Serious
Type: Crash

Problem:

An application will crash in KERNEL32.DLL when a
connection is attempted using the SQL Links
DBLIB driver (SQLSYB32.DLL) and the Sybase
11.1 Win95/NT client.

Tested using:
Sybase 11.1 LIBSYBDB.DLL dated 9/4/96

If the 11.1 LIBSYBDB.DLL is replaced with the
Sybase 10 LIBSYBDB.DLL (I used one dated
8/2/95) then the connection is OK.

Area: sybase

Reference Number: 2
Status: Fixed
Sub Area: BLOBS
Date Reported: 04/04/96
Severity: Commonly Encountered
Type: Minor Functionality Failure

Problem:

Due to limitations in 16-bit Win3.1, we cannot enter
blobdata > 64K in a Sybase/MSSQL table unless
the table is uniquely indexed.
Can this restriction be removed in 32-bit?
